I'm happy to support the game by donating/downloading, and I'm impressed with how much you've accomplished in a short time in unreal from your youtube video. However, I'm a bit confused as to why the v0.3 version available for download doesn't have a "track" you can run like other downloads people show on youtube, or a way to switch to them. It just has a big 4-way loop cube I can't get out of (except by falling to the ground), and random pieces of road.
I get that you are working on a track editor, and if that's in the next version, that'll be amazing, but if not, perhaps include a way to get to the other test tracks you have designed, so I can have more than 3-minutes of non-fun.
It does render rather fast on my machine, but it's an RTX 3060, so I'm not surprised.
Thanks for the support! That's very strange, it should load a full track in the desert level? Check out the end of this video for a full run of it:
That should work! Note that a lot of upgrades have been made which makes this version a bit outdated compared to the current one. Let me know if you can get the level to run, as I'm not quite sure what issue you're running into.
"Note that a lot of upgrades have been made which makes this version a bit outdated compared to the current one."
I'm confused, is there a newer "current" release?
I clicked on the Itch-io download, and it gave me v0.3. Is the "current" release available somewhere?
The track is coming up, and I'm having two problems..
1. That initial sequence of the inverted roll into inverted roll into S-curve and speed-required drop, is just too much for me, as a player who has never played your game. I tried over and over and just couldn't land it, because this is way too hard a sequence to start a new player on. The rest of the track seems possibly easier, but is gated by this really hard initial sequence.
2. I thought I remembered your video saying Q/E were the roll keys, and it took me a while to realize the roll keys are overlayed on A-D, which I find quite awkward btw, because if I do them too early or late, it's turning the car and scrubbing speed and screwing up the sequence.
Is there or will there be local multilayer in the game at some point? I feel like too many gaming companies are kinda just dropping the idea of local multiplayer, and it's disappointing when you're trying to just hang out with your friends and play some games.
This game gave me a positive Trackmania vibe and I'm a big fan of that series. (I even was unintentionally trying to drift on all turns, but it isn't a mechanic, lol).
Great job on the game so far! I am just now learning Unreal Engine and am a beginner to game dev, so I enjoyed watching your series on the game! It is exciting to see how far you have progressed on this game!
Is there a way to download the previous versions? I want to see the original map and check out the night mode as well!
.rar files are almost the same things as .zip files, you have to extract it to run it, if you don't know how to extract a .rar file here is a video for it.
NOTE: make sure you don't already have things such as 7zip installed, you can do that by searching in the search bar for windows, if you already have them installed just double click the .rar files (if you have WIN11 click on "more options") and then hover with the mouse over an option called 7zip and then click "extract here"
Hey, you could use the Engine simulator from AngerTheGreat. it would be a pretty good overhaul since SFX makes a good part of the experience and enjoyment of any game.
As of optimization, i dont rlly know if it would hurt the performance, but think its worth a try
it’s very perfomance heavy to run in real time since it handles so many physic calculations in real time. But you could probably sample it. I already have some sounds ready for a couple cars, just need to implement them using FMod
Will there be a final version for Mac? I have an m1 Mac mini and there's not a lot of racing games for Mac, so it would be pretty cool to have more games ported for Mac.
Im thinking of building my own gaming pc but for now my mac is more than enough, and it probably has more power than 90 percent of windows laptops, only thing that macs are missing is more support for games, maybe like rocket league or Fortnite or some other triple a titles. I get 800 fps in minecraft btw...
For gaming sure, but for editing and stuff like that, they can smoke any windows pc. I had a photoshop class and my teacher would usually always have his screen being shared, and he'd fire up photoshop and by the time his was on the loading screen i was already in the app. When i asked his about his computer specs he told be he was using a 12900k and a 3070 ti with 16 gigs of ram, my mac has the m1 and 8 gigs of ram...
im unsure if it supports the m1 macs but you could use wine https://www.winehq.org/ i have heard its supported on mac but i heard that back when the m1 was not a thing
As most developers use a windows setup for development, any not fully released game would be a pain to export to mac, for a simple playtest or demo. On top of that, it's tough to playtest for mac if you do not have one. The best way for more mac ports is for apple to make it better for windows devs to port to mac 🫤
will the final release on steam also be free? I'm asking because as much as I love games its not like I have a super surplus to be able to splurge on games
Have you considered adding support to apple silicon? I believe if you build Unity 5.0 project(s) as universal binaries an executable for both windows and macos (apple silicon) will be created. I understand that the majority use windows, but granting the chance for apple users to experience your game would mean the world :)

I, too, am stuck in this 4-way loop cube thing. I can hit the ground at times, but no other part of the track. Is there a trick to it?
Will there ever be a Linux port

this game isnt free, sadly
it is :) just choose not to pay when clicking download!
can i play any other map than desert canyon? is there another version for the first map that hazardous made?
The desert map was made after I made A LOT of important handling upgrades as well as performance fixes. So therefore the first map is not available!
Great game. Works a treat on Steam Deck too.
Keep up the good work!
Cool!
yeah... i dont think it wont work on my old pc

Paid (Patreon) Version: Here
great idea with the engine simulator! opens up alot of possibilities for developers.

can we please get the drifting playtest?
Not 100% happy with it yet, will be one out eventually
i would honestly pay to play the not 100% happy with version. I've seen it on youtube and i really loved the gameplay.
just curious, how did you get water foam to work, it doesn't work even if turned on in the material.
how to you run apex rush after installed
you should make a installer for the game
no need to install, just run the exe and play :)

I will be lookin into Mac support! Should be available hopefully for the final release on Steam.
I would like to play your game but I don't know how to open the file
